Disclaimer: We have partnered with non-profit organization, Lilyfield, to bring you information about their spring consignment sale, Pass It On, which benefits foster care and adoption in our community.
It’s a New Year, and with all of the gifts my kids got for Christmas, it’s time to clean out the clutter and the clothes they have outgrown. About this time their shoes are no longer fitting from the fall and it’s time to get some new spring/summer shoes for them to run around in. Toys? We are in desperate need for new ones to rotate in the mix. Besides, no one wants to buy those things at the end of the season for full price, so I am always relieved when I start hearing about the upcoming consignment sale – Pass It On.
Pass It On is a bi-annual children’s consignment sale held in Edmond. This is an excellent opportunity to sign up to consign your gently used items to make a profit. I have done this in the past and it’s a little addicting checking the website to see which items have sold and for how much! It’s also comforting to know that I am helping another mom out by not having to pay full price for items for her children. Every mom tries to make that dollar extend just a little bit further and Pass It On is a great sale to save money, while still getting your kids some necessities for the upcoming season (and let’s be real – a fun toy or three!)
Anyone can consign or shop at Pass It On. They accept sizes 0-18 in children’s clothes, children’s shoes, toys, games, books, furniture, baby gear and MUCH more. You can check out the list of items they sell. But, I’m telling you, there is a little bit of everything!
Pass It On is unique because the sale is not owned by one individual, but is a non-profit sale which benefits Lilyfield, a non-profit adoption and foster care agency in Edmond. The money raised through the sale provides support for the adoption, foster care, independent living and counseling programs. So, while saving or making a buck can really benefit you, you are actually helping several others right here in our community by shopping or donating to this cause! You can shop and sell knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children in our own community! And that’s a great feeling.
For Spring 2017, the Pass It On kids consignment sale details are the following::
Where: Memorial Road Church of Christ – 2221 E. Memorial Road – Gymnasium
When: March 3, 8am – 6pm
March 4, 8am – 3pm (Half Off sale!)
You might be wondering why the sale ends so early on Saturday. At that time, all the clothes and toys that are marked “donate” on the racks are left for families who are fostering or adopting children to come shop for free. They aren’t getting the leftovers, they are getting a step up to help the children they are bringing into their home.
If you’ve never consigned before, Pass It On has tips on their site to help you get started and to make the most for your items. You can bring your best 200 items, which can help you get rid of even more things your children have outgrown all while helping out a really great cause.
Pass It On is a great sale that you should make time to stop by, if for nothing else, some great clothes at a great price. But go shop regardless for an easy way to give back to our own community, for children in need.
