When I ask someone to go grab a coffee, I usually want to go somewhere that I feel like we can relax, has delicious baked goods, doesn’t rush you out of the door, is equipped with comfortable seating and, of course, has amazing coffee. The other night I was introduced to a place that offers all of that and more, Vintage Coffee. This lovely establishment is located at 1101 NW 49th street, just off of Western. You can swing by anytime Monday through Friday, from 6am to 5pm, and Saturday, 7am to 5pm.
As soon as you walk in the door, you are welcomed with the familiar coffee house feeling of hospitality and comfort. The owners want to make you feel like you are “a friend in their living room” rather than just another customer. By intentionally providing a space that welcomes conversation, they are really inviting you to come back again and again. But if you aren’t able to get out and take an hour to relax inside, they do have a drive-thru. Sometimes I am desperate for a good cup of Joe, but prefer to keep my children locked in their carseats.
Let’s talk about the menu, because you won’t believe it. There is an entire wall of suggested combos that span from Lucky Charm to Peeps, but they will create anything your heart desires (within the syrup varieties). They will make it hot or cold; the possibilities are endless. All of their syrups are free of High Fructose Corn Syrup. And all of their coffee, espresso and tea drinks are fair-trade, organic. So if you are looking for a healthier option, this is the spot for you. They also serve a selection of pastries made by Brown’s Bakery and sandwiches by Ingrid’s Kitchen.
Simple*Classic*Substance is their motto. I believe Carrie and Alan have achieved that in the quality they bring in their food, the atmosphere, the service. When you are over on that side of town, go check out this gem.
Have you been to Vintage Coffee? What’s your favorite drink?
[…] Vintage Coffee’s homemade mix is what I consider classic hot chocolate. Pure and simple and made with milk, it hits the hot chocolate craving. For a little more pizzazz add in a flavor like caramel or any other of the many choices and then a little whipped cream on top. The fact that this hot chocolate is organic, gives it major bonus points in my book. […]
