We Asked, You Delivered: What Busy Moms Really NEED in the Mornings

Visine LogoAs busy moms, we know there is nothing more satisfying than getting a little extra help, especially in the morning when your mind is racing in 30 different directions and so are the kids. So, we partnered with the VISINE® Brand to give 15 lucky mommas a #VISINEMorningMakeover!

Over the course of the 3-week contest we learned a lot about you and your hectic mornings – nearly 40 percent of you wanted some assistance with cleaning and organizing your home and almost 30 percent of you wanted help when it came to preparing meals! There were requests for extra caffeine to give you a much-needed jolt of energy, and of course there were a few of you that dreamed of spending a little “me time” doing yoga or Pilates. No matter what the request, it’s clear that you OKC mamas are busy women!

In addition to the meal prep and cleaning services we gave away, we also sent one reader, Chellie, to a local spa for a girl’s night out with two of her friends! Check them out below!

Because we couldn’t give each and every one of you a #VISINEMorningMakeover, we’re re-sharing a few of our favorite tips from nationally-recognized efficiency expert Celia Ward-Wallace to help you on your way.

Thanks to everyone who participated!

Reward yourself: Give yourself something to look forward to when the stress starts creeping in by planning leisure activities into your daily schedule. Plan activities that you know you will enjoy, so you have something look forward to once you are stress-free.

Fake it till you make it: Lack of sleep can result in red, irritated eyes. A few drops of VISINE® Original Redness Relief’s fast-acting formula quickly soothes and refreshes red, irritated eyes so whether you’ve had two or eight hours of sleep, VISINE® Original Redness Relief helps you get back to normal fast.

Make time for yourself: You aren’t going to be able to keep up with work or your family if you don’t take care of yourself, make scheduling “me” time a priority even if it is only 15-20 minutes a day. Focusing on yourself will give you the energy and confidence to tackle any task.

Plan your day: It sounds simple, but actually putting your schedule and to-do list in writing cannot only save you time, but it can help you be more flexible since making changes and substitutions are easier when it’s all laid out clearly in front of you.

Don’t forget to smile: Smiling helps alleviate stress and nervousness, smiling will make you and other around you happy!

Do as much as you possibly can the night before: Save time and make sure you have everything you may need by packing the night before; set out clothes, pack lunches and diaper bags, backpacks and work bags so they are ready to go.

Develop a regular routine: Trick your mind by forming a routine, choose three tasks that you are going to do every morning and night, like emptying the dishwasher or tidying up the house. Make them more fun by including the whole family!
