“Every season has its lipstick trend, and just because your perfect color is pinky beige, that doesn’t mean you can’t wear deep burgundy.” – Bobbi Brown – (Professional Makeup Artist)
We are heading into the Fall season and with that comes the changing of colors, textures, temperature, and of course all things pumpkin and spice. This is the perfect time to try some new lip colors at a very affordable price. (If you read this sentence again, you’ll figure out that I rhymed, and I wasn’t trying to, but it did make me smile.)
In the Summer, I prefer a shiny lipstick or lipgloss, but in the Fall and Winter I prefer a matte lipstick or lip crayon. I like to peruse the aisles of CVS and Walgreens to see what new items are available from Rimmel and Wet n Wild cosmetics. You’d be surprised at what these brands have to offer and how great some of their cosmetics are. Celebrities and models are now collaborating with these cosmetic lines and a quality product is being produced.
I saw these small tubes of lipstick on the Wet n Wild display at my local Walgreens and I was drawn to them for three reasons.
1. I liked the packaging, clean and simple.
2. I liked that you could immediately tell they were matte and could see the color clearly.
3. I liked the price! $2.19 (tax included)
It was the perfect opportunity to try a few colors and not break the bank. Sometimes all a woman needs is a new lipstick and she can conquer the world. As soon as I got in my car, I of course put on my new lipstick, and for $2.19 I was pleasantly surprised at how high the pigment is in this particular lipstick. (Big bonus in my book)
The Wet n Wild Megalast lipsticks have a semi-matte finish and are creamy at the same time. My lips didn’t dry out, and it stayed on pretty well even after drinking my coffee. Here’s a great video that reviews a few swatches of the colors.
If you haven’t tried a matte lipstick before, this semi-matte $2.19 lipstick is a great place to start. If you don’t like it, CVS has a 100% cosmetic return policy and Walgreens return policy with cosmetics is given in the form of a gift card credit, or a manager has to approve the return.
Treat yourself to something small and try something new, even if it is a new lipstick!
