Thirty-somethings of Oklahoma City, listen up:  Third Eye Blind is back and headed our way!

Mark your calendars for Tuesday July 7th.  This will be a night full of reminiscing with both Third Eye Blind and Dashboard Confessional at the Zoo Amphitheatre.  And if you want to hear live performances of Third Eye Blind’s new album, Dopamine, it’s available for download here on iTunes.

I had the opportunity to listen to the album and wanted to share my thoughts to get you prepped and ready for the third eye blind bandconcert. Dopamine is a really great album.  It shows Jenkins’ ability to write incredibly catchy pop-rock songs with great hooks. A few songs connect me back to the sound TEB had in the 90’s. They drop little hints of certain lyrics or beats that echo their older songs. “Shipboard Cook” has the same build up and slow down as “Motorcycle Drive By” and many of the songs have the laid back vibe from their 2003 album, Out Of The Vein.  Currently the most popular song (according to iTunes) is “Everything is Easy” and I can see why.  The lyrics stick in your head after only one time of hearing them.   Another favorite of mine is “Rites of Passage.” This song has a great sound and I just love the whistling!

Dopamine is an album I certainly won’t forget about. When I want to hear one of my favorite and most memorable bands of my adolescent years, this will be one I go and listen to.

Tickets for the concert are still on sale here if have yet to purchase them.  If you aren’t able to make the concert but would love to see our coverage on Instagram, make sure you are following @okcmomsblog!
