We hope you get out and enjoy the 4th this year! Keep these tips in mind as you make your plans!
Top 5 Tips to survive & enjoy 4th of July with kids
- Be Prepared! Sunscreen, bug spray, blankets, lots of water, and baby wipes rock for all ages especially when it comes to watermelon and Popsicles!
- Be flexible! Babies won’t necessarily like fireworks and kids won’t always appreciate a parade, by age 5 or 6 they might need more activities, and by 10 or 12 they might prefer to celebrate with friends. The fourth is about fun!
- Remember your fur babies! Most dogs don’t like fireworks and will panic and get loose. Make sure you put your fur baby inside or have a neighbor come do it.
- Shade! If you are out mid day find the shade or take some with you. Mega important. We used to sit on the East side of the parade route in the shade of the buildings. So just think it out and come prepared!
- Naps Rule! If you want your kids to make it through fireworks without a meltdown don’t skip the naps. At least encourage some down time for the younger crowd, and maybe the older generation, oh and mommy too!
Happy 4th of July!!!
