Great Cloth Diaper Change 2014

The Great Cloth Diaper Change is an attempt to set the world record for most babies changed in a cloth diaper at the same time world wide. Okay, so maybe that doesn’t sound like it is very exciting to some of you, but it’s a huge event and OKC has been the second largest location in the world every year. This year is going to be even more exciting as Cloth Diaper Oklahoma is also going to be hosting a Natural Parenting Expo. Come have fun with us on April 26th to learn about local resources in the natural parenting community!GCDC125

Last year was my first year to attend the GCDC because it was my first time to have a child to change. It was so much fun and connected me with so many people and resources in the community. I was able to meet doulas, Essential Oils distributors, other babywearing moms, and local people and businesses.

GCDC45jpgThere were several events and break-out sessions for us to learn, time to chat, and LOTS of prizes to win. After going last year, I had such fun that I am now a part of the planning committee for this year. I am extremely excited that we are expanding the scope of the event to include some great natural parenting resources, which means more moms and dads can come check out the amazing resources we have in our city even if they don’t cloth diaper. We know that cloth diapering is by no means mainstream so by showcasing modern cloth diapers and other natural parenting options, we can inform the public and show that it’s not so “gross” after all.

From the Savvy Baby cloth diaper cleaning service to Oklahoma Birth Network, there are 15+ vendors scheduled to be on site that day and many more companies have donated great prizes for the attendees of the event. There have been awesome prizes donated including a convertible car seat  and great local natural resources like Natural Awakenings will be in attendance!

So if you are interested in learning about modern cloth diapers, safe babywearing techniques, and/or other topics in the natural parenting world, stop by the Fair Grounds on April 26th!
