Have you heard? There’s a new school in town. And, your kids won’t complain about getting out of bed for this one.

Goldfish Swim School is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility right here in the Oklahoma City metro area. Located near NW 150th St and N Santa Fe Ave in Edmond, Goldfish offers year-round swimming lessons for children ages four months to 12 years.

I recently enrolled my two-year-old son in the “Mini 2” class, a 30-minute lesson for children 16-35 months. After four lessons, I can’t say enough positive things about the experience. But for the sake of brevity, I’ve narrowed it down to 10.

1. The water is 90 degrees.

If you’re joining your little one in the pool, you can expect a very pleasant temperature. In fact, if you can look past the splashing and squeals of children, you may even convince yourself you’re at the spa.

2. It’s bright, clean, and spacious.

When you walk in Goldfish, the first thing you’ll notice is the open space, bright colors, and tropical theme. Basically, it’s the IKEA of swim schools.

3. There are changing huts.

One of the many ways this swim school proves it is family-friendly is with large changing stalls. Individual and big enough to change your child (and yourself, if necessary), these huts offer the convenience and privacy you deserve.

4. No wet worries.

In addition to a complete hair drying station, Goldfish also offers dryers for your swimsuits. Simply place your wet clothes in a dryer, shut it, and remove a no-longer-soaked suit in a matter of seconds.

5. There are rewards.

After every class, there’s a prize for each kid to take home with them. From posters to stickers, we’ve collected several fun treats.

6. What a view.

If your kids are old enough to go in the water alone, or if someone else is supervising them in the pool, you have the luxury of sitting in the viewing room. You can watch your child learn, and let’s face it… the glass wall between you and the water ensures your phone won’t get wet while you take 1,000 pictures of your cute kiddo.

7. They offer convenient lesson times.

As a working mom, I worried that my child would miss out on such a fun experience. But luckily, Goldfish offers classes in the evening all year long. Ours started at 6:30, the perfect time for our family. They provide a consistent time and day until I need to make a change. Since Goldfish offers year round lessons, now he won’t forget what he learned since he will continually be working on those skills.

8. The kids will be proud.

Goldfish is all about positive affirmation. This means lots of celebration when milestones are met, and children will often earn ribbons to proudly display what they’ve accomplished.

9. You can trust the curriculum.

In addition to fun and games, Goldfish’s certified instructors emphasize life-saving water safety skills at every lesson. This had a significant effect on my son, whose confidence in the water has skyrocketed since starting swim lessons.

10. It’s all in one place.

Yet another convenient attention to detail is the presence of showers. Since a quick rinse is required before entering the pool, being able to shower at the facility makes things that much easier. Not to mention, Goldfish provides shampoo so you have one less thing to worry about.

If these 10 reasons aren’t enough to convince you, I encourage you to visit Goldfish Swim School for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
