Fighting Against Breast Cancer

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are thrilled to be partnering with Ink to the People to offer our readers an opportunity to join us and more than a dozen City Moms Blog Sister Sites across the country in raising funds for Look Good Feel Better, an organization that teaches beauty techniques to people with cancer to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The program includes lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetic techniques, wigs and turbans, helping people with cancer to find some normalcy in a life that has ceased to be normal.

Breast cancer has touched so many close to us.  Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, daughters, best friends. We want to team up with you to join in the fight.  To fight like a mother.

The program is open to all women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of treatment.

Thousands of volunteer beauty professionals support Look Good Feel Better. All are trained and certified by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and the Professional Beauty Association at local, statewide, and national workshops. Other volunteer health care professionals and individuals also give their time to the program.

We are so excited to bring you a simple and fashionable way to support our efforts!  From now until November, we are thrilled to give you the opportunity to join us as we “Fight Like a Mother” against breast cancer and help other women like us regain a sense of beauty and normalcy while they undergo treatment.
