Lice-ology phone

I finally called Lice-ology on July 19th.  I should have done it sooner.  Do you remember hearing about Lice-ology in this previous post?  I did.

By July 19th, our family had treated for lice at home three times (various family members) in the last six months with an over the counter lice shampoo, lice comb, and a shampoo that is supposed to continue to kill lice between treatments.  Not to mention all the washing of bedding, blankets, stuffed animals and couch cushions in hot water. Or the boiling of all the combs and brushes and the separating anything else a head might have had contact with by putting it in a plastic bag for a few days.  Or all the combing of the hair with that tiny fine-tooth comb, removing nits.  Did I mention THREE times?  All of that???

So when I noticed a teeny-tiny black bug in one of my daughter’s hair on July 19th, I was SO DONE.  And at that point, we BOTH had lice.  I called Lice-ology and they were able to make an appointment for us that night.

Guys, it was the best experience.

You walk into the cutest salon atmosphere.  Lice-ology owner Frances Dickerson and her team of professional technicians will greet you with a smile and begin a thorough head check.  If your head check reveals a need for lice treatment, they will begin by massaging your scalp and shampooing your hair with a non-toxic, chemical free, lice-killing shampoo.  Twenty minutes later, they wash the shampoo out of your hair and begin a full-comb out of your hair, using a combing solution.  During this step of the treatment, my daughter was offered a snack and a movie to watch.  I was offered a glass of wine.

The technician combs and combs and combs.  It’s actually relaxing.  They are removing nits and bugs and will work until you can be declared “lice-free.”  You will pay a certain amount per hour for their services.  Once the technician is done,  you are given a Nit Free Terminator lice comb to continue to use at home for a few days.  If you need a certificate to show school or daycare that your child has been treated and found to be lice free, they will give you one.  Lice-ology also recommends a re-check, 7-10 days after the initial treatment.  If you schedule that re-check, you will find out that you now have a three week guarantee.  Meaning if you get lice again during that three week period after your re-check visit, they will treat again at no additional cost to you!

So yeah…I was given a scalp massage while someone else removed lice from my hair.  AND THEN I was given a glass of wine to sip on while someone else treated my child for lice.

My only question is:  Why didn’t I call sooner?

There’s really no reason for it.  And there isn’t for you, either.

During the month of August, Lice-ology wants to help you prepare for back to school by giving FREE head checks to children, by appointment.  All you’ve gotta do is call.

After all the summer sleep-overs, camps and daycare days, it really would be smart to make this one of your back to school errands.  Their location is 820 N.E. 63rd Street Oklahoma City  OK  73105.  I’ve even got the number right here for you: 405.418.6487 (NITS).

This satisfied customer was glad I called.  I was, too.
