A Pizza Lovers Guide to the Best Slices in Oklahoma City

Are you in the mood for a delicious pizza but are wanting to try somewhere new, either with your family, for girl’s night, or a fun place for a date night? We’ve covered several pizzerias throughout the metro in our guide to Oklahoma City’s favorite pizza restaurants. As a pizza lover myself, I have really enjoyed researching the different places throughout OKC and can’t wait to add some of these to our pizza night rotation!

EDMOND:

Jo’s Famous Pizza

Originally started in Purcell, OK, Jo’s “Famous” Pizza started out as a small family business catering to the teenagers of Purcell in 1962, complete with jukebox and pinball machine. Jo’s also has a location in Edmond, just a little bit North of 15th and Kelly. While Jo’s is a great, family friendly option for Edmond families, I would recommend checking out this restaurant even if you aren’t local to Edmond. Even with its simple ingredients compared to many other pizza restaurants in OKC, Jo’s stands alone with its own unique types of pizza such as Taco Pizza, and Bacon Jalapeno Cheeseburger Pizza. Kiddos visiting this restaurant get a small ball of dough to play with while they wait, and they also have a birthday party package!

Upper Crust

Upper Crust is a wood-fired pizza restaurant and wine bar with locations in North Edmond and on Classen Curve in OKC. Start your weekend off right with one of their brunch pizzas, or if you’re there in the evening, start your meal with their cheese bread, or my personal favorite, the Farmer’s Market Salad. They offer signature pizzas as well as build-your-own. I can personally recommend their Psycho Shroom pizza. Wash your meal down with a selection from their extensive wine bar. Don’t forget to save room for cookie pie!

OKLAHOMA CITY:

Empire Slice House:

Located in the Plaza District of Oklahoma City, Empire Slice has an extensive bar and appetizer menu, as well as unique varieties of pizza. My favorite is their mushroom pizza called Fungus Among Us. Pizza is offered either by the slice on a rotating limited menu or as a whole pie, with the full menu of pizzas always available. While the Plaza is a fun area to visit in the evenings, Empire does have a great lunch special on the weekdays from 11-4.  $9 for a slice (limited menu), salad, and drink.

If you prefer to take a slice to go, a great option is The Easy E, next door to Empire Slice House. We do this often with our kids because you avoid the wait time and table service of a restaurant. It’s a no wait option if you are open to just pizza and a drink. Only their limited slice menu is available at the Easy E.

After pizza, visit Roxy’s Ice Cream or Pie Junkie for dessert and DNA Galleries for a great selection of OKC Thunder T-shirts!

The Wedge

Another great wood-fired pizza restaurant is The Wedge. The Wedge offers two locations, one in the Deep Deuce area of OKC, and one near Western and NW Expressway. The Wedge on Western was OKC’s first artisanal brick oven pizza restaurant. The Wedge prides themselves on using as many ingredients as they can from local farmers and gardens. Any of their pizzas can be made gluten-free, or turned into a calzone! They offer a grab and go breakfast special at their Western location, a weekday $10 lunch special which includes a small entree, side salad, and drink, and BOGO pizza night on Monday nights. My favorite pizza is The Truffle Shuffle (are you starting to notice that I love mushrooms?)

Hall’s Pizza Kitchen

Great for a date or a meal with kids, Hall’s Pizza Kitchen offers varieties of pizza that you won’t see anywhere else! Located in midtown, Halls offers inside seating as well as rooftop seating. I recommend making a reservation, as it’s very popular, and wait times can be long. I can personally recommend the lasagna pizza and the brunch pizza! Don’t forget to visit their bakery counter for dessert! Their salted caramel chocolate chip cookie is huge and delicious!!

Falcone’s Pizzeria

Oklahoma City’s best pizza for over 10 years! Falcone’s is located near 63rd and May, and is quick and family-friendly. While their pizza is delicious, my favorite thing to order is actually their calzone. Falcone’s has daily specials, subs, calzones, pasta, pizza slices, whole pies, and a delicious dessert menu.

Joey’s Pizzeria

Located near Myriad Gardens, Joey’s offers a wide range of pizzas, as well as subs and baked pastas. Their menu includes a variety of weekday lunch specials from 11am-2pm, as well as a Thunder Game Night Special, a Senior Night Special, and weekend brunch. Joey’s is family and date night friendly!

Hideaway Pizza

With several locations throughout the metro, everyone is sure to find something they love at Hideaway Pizza. Check out their original restaurant in Stillwater, Oklahoma, if you’re the nostalgic type. This is a very family-friendly restaurant perfect for family pizza night! Their fried mushrooms make the perfect appetizer!

NORMAN

Pryor’s Pizza Kitchen

New to Norman, Pryor’s Pizza kitchen is a coal-fired pizza restaurant offering delicious pizza and appetizers. Another contributor went with her family and told me it might be her new favorite pizza restaurant because the pizza was incredible. This restaurant is kid-friendly or fun for date night. I’m thinking I might need to take a trip to Norman to try it out!!

kenziekeck
Hello, OKC! I am originally a native of Boulder, Colorado, where I lived for 18 years. I moved to Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma Christian University where I met my husband, Garrett, on a blind date. We stayed in Edmond due to the extremely high cost of living in Colorado combined with the extremely high cost of student loans from attending a private university, and 9 years in to marriage, we are still here! We have 3 wonderful kiddos! Scott (4), Anna (2), & Rhett (2). We adopted Scott at birth, and had the twins with the help of fertility treatments and sperm donation. You can find us mostly at home in South Edmond, because taking 3 little kids out in public is no joke. My favorite things include cold weather, coffee, planning my kid's birthday parties 6 months in advance, and truffle mushroom pizza.
