Top 5 Reasons To Vacation at an All-Inclusive Resort

Now that the holiday whirlwind has come and gone, most people, myself included, are looking forward to the year ahead.  There is something to be said about a fresh start.  A new year, new goals, new dreams…and new vacation plans. This is the time to get your reservations made for the rest of the year (Vincent Vacations is now booking family vacations & adult getaways for 2017!), with Spring Break right around the corner and summer will be here soon after that!

Where would you go? What are your vacation dreams for this year?

Last summer, I went on a trip through Vincent Vacations with some of my girlfriends to an all-inclusive resort in Cabo. I had never been to an all-inclusive resort before, and I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Since I didn’t have a lot of time to research before we left, I made sure my passport was up to date and packed a weekends’ worth of non-mom clothes for what was bound to be a fabulous vacation. Did I miss my kids? Absolutely. Did I have the time of my life? Absolutely. Now that I’ve had a taste of an all-inclusive, vacationing seems so much easier.  I don’t have to piece together an entire vacation since it’s all in one place for me. No more waking up and trying to figure out a plan, because it’s already done.  The options to sit and eat, join in activities, or just gaze at the ocean are all key ingredients to a relaxing vacation for me!

But really, why choose an all-inclusive resort?  Here are my top 5 reasons that once you try it, you won’t want to go back!

1. The service.  From the moment my friends and I stepped foot at the resort, we were greeted with cold-washcloths to wipe away the dust of traveling.  Right after, we were given a glass of champagne as a welcome gift and our bags were set aside to be taken to our rooms. We also had twice daily room cleanings, with tidying up our beds from sleeping the night before and then turn-down service before bedtime. Any issue at all, they have someone who will be there to help you with what you need.

Not at an all-inclusive:
You have to unload all the bags, lug them up to your hotel/rental home and you definitely aren’t greeted by cold-compresses or glasses of champagne. Even worse, you are your own maid.

2. The food. Any kind of food and drinks (yes, that includes alcohol as well) are available to you 24/7 at no extra cost!  We had a snack when we were checking in, we ate lunch at 2 pm, followed by yet another snack or the option to order room service if we felt like being lazy. Nachos and hamburgers?  You got it. Steak skewers and lobster? It will be right out. Dessert any time you want?  Of course! There are a variety of food and restaurants at your fingertips and it’s all very high quality food!

Not at an all-inclusive: If you are staying anywhere for any length of time, you typically either go grocery shopping or eat fast food to save money. So that means YOU get to cook the meals or find the most convenient place, when your stomach would rather have something else.  Anything other than water just adds to your bill. Cha-ching.

3. The activities. When I first heard about an all-inclusive, I remember thinking that I hoped we weren’t bored. But that is the exact opposite of what happened.  There are daily activities such as yoga starting at 9:30, water aerobics at noon, water volleyball right after, and oh wait!  Join us for painting or Spanish class at 3! The daily activities are listed in your room or found on a handy dandy app. Or you lounge by the pool if that is your activity of choice. You don’t have to worry about bringing your wallet with you- it’s all included.

Not at an all-inclusive: You get to pay for anything extra you want to do.

There were also options for large ocean-view rooms! Daily snacks (fruit and candy) and mini-drinks were daily treats and anything we wanted in the mini-fridge was free for the taking. Robes were laid out before bedtime with slippers to warm our feet.

Not at an all-inclusive: If you want a robe, bring your own. If you want daily snacks or to enjoy a mini-fridge treat, you get to bring them or pay extra for those.

The resort itself. The resort offers anything you really could dream about.  Stores for shopping (souvenirs and/or basic needs), a dance club, a classy bar, fancy restaurants that offered different kinds of cuisines, a spa, a fitness center.  We really had anything we could ever need right there within walking distance.  Another thing I liked was that when we left the resort one evening to go sightseeing, they made sure they knew what guests we were and when we planned to be back.  They took care of us by calling a cab and made sure we got to our destination. We felt secure.

Not at an all-inclusive: You are in charge of finding all of these places on your own. This includes bringing extra money instead of being at a cash-less all-inclusive resort. cabo_sunrise

Traveling with your friends, spouse or family doesn’t have to be a headache.  If you call Lia at Vincent Vacations, she can give you the best ideas in terms of budget, locations and times of year! She has been to several all-inclusive resorts, so she can truly recommend (or not recommend!) where to stay when going on vacation. Booking with her won’t include an extra service fee, and she gets the same online deal for all-inclusive packages – but she does all the work for you! The week before we went, there was a category 2 hurricane that hit Cabo. She was watching the weather and would have rerouted our flights, if the need arose. She took care of all the details so it was easy to enjoy our vacation.

So now that we are in a new year, what NEW places are you going to visit?
