Here we go! Your guide to enjoying July with kids in Oklahoma City.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, we’re just highlighting a few events for your family to enjoy throughout the month.  There are SO many terrific things to get out and do in Oklahoma City and we hope having some of them in one place makes it easier on you to keep those kiddos entertained!  Anything you’d like to see added here? OKC Moms Need to Know :: Your Guide to July 2015

July marks the return of Way Back Wednesday at the OKC Zoo – admission is just $1 on Wednesdays all month long! Also you don’t want to miss Okietales at the Oklahoma Historical Society every Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

July 1: 

Toddler & Me Yoga at the Edmond Public Library. 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.

July 2:

Summer Movies at the Warren: The Lorax.  Tickets are $2 and the movie starts at 10 a.m.

Western Avenue On the Lawn: Last one of the season! 7-11 p.m. Food trucks, cardboard boxcar derby & face painting.  Honey I Shrunk the Kids  starts at 9:00

July 3:

McLoud Blackberry Festival – 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. McLoud High School Athletic Complex. 12780 W. Seikel

Paseo First Friday Art Walk – Enjoy the Paseo District’s monthly art fair featuring themed exhibits, refreshments, guest artists, and entertainment.  6-10 p.m.

July 4:

Check out our 4th of July Guide for information on parades, festivals, fireworks & more! There are so great events across the city to celebrate Independence Day!

July 5:

Oklahoma City Dodgers – Family Sunday! Enjoy face painting, crafts, inflatables and more when the Dodgers take on Omaha at 6:05 p.m.  Stay after the game and let your kids run the bases!

July 6:

Sam Noble Museum: Free admission for children for Free First Mondays

July 7:

Mary Poppins opens at Lyric Theatre.  The show runs July 7-July 11 and tickets start at $25

July 8: 

Junior Master Gardening – Midwest City Library.  Kids age 12-18 can learn about “super-hero” qualities in fruits, vegetables, and compost from experts from OSU-OKC.

July 9:

Take pART in the Fair – Free children’s art classes courtesy of the Oklahoma State Fair (some classes may require purchasing a supply kit). The classes are Fine Arts & Crafts, Needlecraft, Cooking, Jr. Arts & Crafts, and Ceramics.  Pre-registration is required.

July 10: 

Lego Mania at the Choctaw Library 10-11 a.m.

Play In the Park – Activities including games, snacks and arts & crafts for children aged 6-14 years (must be accompanied by an adult).  Veteran’s Memorial Park Pavilion – 1900 SE 4th street, Moore – 10:00am – 11:00am

FAA Credit Union Summer Movie Series at the Chesapeake Boathouse – Maleficent. 8:30 p.m. Get there at 6:00 to enjoy GLOW with live music, food trucks & a beer garden.

2nd Friday Art Walk in Norman 6-9 p.m. downtown Main Street – FREE

July 11:

Oklahoma Mommies Stick Together Spring Craft Show – 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. 1201 N. Mustang Rd. Mustang, OK. Free entry, door prizes, and swag bags for the first 50 people in the door!

“Hooked on Fishing” – Free Fishing classes for kids from the OKC Parks & Rec department. Edwards Park Lake 1515 North Bryant

Life Sized Candyland – FREE – Chitwood Park in Edmond 2-5 p.m.

Norman Farmers Market – Cleveland County Fairgrounds 8-12 p.m.

July 12:

Sunset Cinemas movie night in Midwest City – Paddington

July 13:

Cimarron Opera: The Owl, The Tree, and Me.  Midwest City Library 7-7:45 p.m.

July 14: 

Zumba Kids at the Southern Oaks Library. 2-2:45 p.m.

July 15: 

Amazing Avengers at the Village Library 2-3 p.m.

Nature Play Group at Martin Park Nature center.  Times vary and pre-registration is required.  Graduate students from Oklahoma City University will lead parents & children in activities which will teach children about nature with games, crafts, and other fun projects.

July 16:

The Gaylord-Pickens Museum offers a story and craft time and with $3 admission.
Story time will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the craft  for families to enjoy together. Children 5 and under are free of charge.

Suessical the Musical Opens at Mitch Park – Kids 4 & under are FREE! The show runs July 16-18 and July 23-25.

July 17: 

OKC Zoo – FREE admission for Sales Tax Appreciation Day

July 18:

Heard on Hurd – Food trucks, live music, pop-up shops & more in Downtown Edmond!  6-10 p.m.

Norman Farmers Market – Cleveland County Fairgrounds 8-12 p.m.

July 19: 

Oklahoma City Dodgers – Family Sunday! Enjoy face painting, crafts, inflatables and more when the Dodgers take on Round Rock at 6:05 p.m.  Stay after the game and let your kids run the bases!

July 20:

Eskimo Joe’s 40th Anniversary Celebration kicks off on July 20th with an outdoor concert benefiting the Folds of Honor Foundation.  Eat at Joe’s July 20th-26th for nightly door prizes, gift cards & to spin the Wheel-O-Prizes!

July 21:

OKC Z00 – Wild Tuesdays Story Time Safari – 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Zoo.  Includes a snack & a craft!

Art Adventures at the Fred Jones Museum of Art – Children Age 3-5 can experience art through books & art projects. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

July 22: 

Lyric Theatre – Broadway Musical Big Fish at Lyric Theatre through July 25.  Tickets start at $25.

July 23:

Whole Hog Days – Carnvial, Rodeo, Parade, Crafts & More July 23-25th Eufala, OK

July 24:

Women of Faith Conference – Cox Convention Center.  Click here for ticket discounts & a giveaway!

65th Annual Indian Hills Pow Wow – 6300 N. Sooner Rd.

July 25: 

Hot Pursuit BBQ Cook-Off – Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, Shawnee, OK.  Times TBD

Slide the City – Enjoy a 1,000 ft slip in slide right in the heart of the city.  Proceeds benefit the Oklahoma City chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Youth Triathlon – Edmond (Mitch Park) YMCA

July 26: 

Uptown Grocery – Little Big Chefs Cooking classes – class times vary by age.  Pre-registration required. Call 509-2700 to register

July 27:

Dino O’Dell  will be bringing his space-alien story & songs to libraries across the metro July 27-31.  Check his web site for dates & locations!

July 28:

Myriad Garden Weekly Walk-Up: Tasty Tuesday – Children will use their artistic abilities to create edible animals using fruits & vegetables all while learning about the foods & enjoying dipping sauces from the chefs at the Park House

July 29: 

Myriad Garden Weekly Walk-Up: Reading Wednesday – Listen to a book that will connect your children to what is growing in the garden that week, then enjoy either a craft or a nature walk!

July 30:

Myriad Garden Weekly Walk-Up: Throwback Thursday – Kids will learn to upcycle old items into something new – materials provided.

Old Town Farmers Market – 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Moore Community Center

July 31: 

H&8th 7-11 p.m in midtown.  Gourmet food trucks, live music, and more!
