OKC Guide to MDO, Preschool and Daycare

MDO-600x300

Trying to find the best place to send your child while you are away can sometimes be quite difficult.  As moms (and dads!), we want to find a place that will love and nurture our child while we go to work or take a much needed parenting break.  Our post for questions you should ask can also help with knowing the right questions to find the right facility!  **Please note:: OKCMB does not endorse any specific business or location in this guide, this is to help in your own selection.**

This is a comprehensive list that we put together with input from our Neighborhood Playgroups as well as our own research.  Please let us know if we missed one – we would be happy to add it. Share with your friends who may need this post so they can take all the hard work out of looking up all these locations on his or her own!

Erin was Okie born, but was East coast bred from ages 5-18. She returned to Oklahoma City for college at Oklahoma Christian where she and her husband met through friends and were married. Taking her love of connecting people and places to the blogging world, she co-founded Oklahoma City Moms Blog in 2013. She loves being a mom with all of her heart to her daughter and son - who battled and won a fight against Lymphoma in 2016. It changed her outlook on love and life and is so grateful for each and every new day.

  1. My kiddos went to Bethany First Church of the Nazarene Kids Day Out, and I even worked there for several years. We were very happy with our time spent there!

  2. You missed the one we attend: Forst Presbyterian School (it’s MDO-pre-K) at NW 24th & Western – great for those of us in midtown!

Also, my church, Christ the King, has a great MDO program! ☺️

  3. You missed one! The Learning Center at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church is excellent! Also, there is a wonderful MDO at New Hope United Methodist Church.

    • You might look into Montessori schools. There are several around the city. I don’t know if it’s exactly the same, but from my understanding they sound very similar.

  4. Does anyone know if any of the places in Edmond/Central OKC/Metro offer part time? The Mother’s Day Out options have usually been too few hours for what I’m needing. Thanks for your help.

  5. Is there anywhere that someone can use just once a week or something like that? My sister-in-law has three foster care kids under the age of two and she wants them to get some socialization (and honestly needs a break sometimes) but doesn’t need day care.
