Recently, my toddler has started pointing at lamp posts and shouting “LIGHT, mama, LIGHT!” with immense joy from the backseat of the car.
Needless to say, we are in for a serious MIND BLOWN moment when we take her to see Christmas lights. And – lucky for us – there are SO many options for a great Christmas light viewing in OKC!
Automobile Alley – Head downtown and check out Broadway from NW 4th to 10th street to see more than 180,000 lights drape the buildings in historic Automobile Alley. Lights are on November 20 – January 1 from dusk to dawn.
Markwell Avenue – Located west of Council off NW 23rd Street, this entire block participates in a light show set to music starting the day after Thanksgiving. Turn your radio to 107.1 FM to hear the music. Don’t forget to bring a canned good for their food drive.
Holiday Lights Spectacular – Midwest City provides one of the best holiday lights display with the longest and brightest drive through displays. Display runs November 20th through December 30th.
Christmas Light Carriage Tours – Take the family on a beautiful, light seeing tour pulled by a horse-drawn carriage down in Bricktown during the month of December and the first week of January.
Downs Family Lights – Head south to Norman for this show beginning November 27 and running nightly from 6 pm until midnight. Bring a canned food item to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Cash donations are also welcome.
Bricktown Canal – Stroll the canal or take a water taxi ride and enjoy a spectacular lights display. The lights are on from November 28 – January 1 and water taxi rides are free Thursday – Sunday evenings!
Christmas in the Park – The City of Yukon puts on an amazing display of 4.5 million lights that you can walk or drive through. Tune your radio to 106.1FM or 107.1FM to hear the music for light shows and grab some hot chocolate to warm up!
Chickasha Festival of Lights – This year marks the 20th anniversary of this wonderful light display at Shannon Springs Park in Chickasha. Admission is free for you to enjoy the over 3.5 million lights!
