Mom of the Month: Tausha Davison-Beverly {December 2017}

We are loving our Mom of the Month series!  Do you know a special mom in our community who deserves some special recognition? Fill out the form to nominate a mom you know here. Thank you to Whole Foods Market Oklahoma City for partnering with us to provide a special gift for our Mom of the Month!

We are excited to introduce you to our December Mom of the Month, Tausha Davison-Beverly!

Tausha was nominated by Heather White (with the help of Tausha’s husband, Tracey). This is what they had to say about her.

“I work with Tausha at The Learning Center (TLC) at Nichols HIlls Methodist. She has such a gentle and loving spirit. Tausha cares deeply about the children, and the people, that she works with. I wanted to nominate her for this recognition and I asked her husband to tell me more about their children since I know her better as a co-worker. I feel that this nomination should come from both me and her husband Tracey, since he wrote such a lovely paragraph about her in response to my question:

Tausha Davison-Beverly is a beautiful, selfless mother that has truly been a blessing to her family, friends, and the Oklahoma community for 20+ years. She is a native Oklahoman and was raised in Midwest City. Her devotion as a mother has truly been amazing to witness! She does not boast or look for attention, but she is truly deserving of recognition as one of OKC’s best mothers.

She tirelessly devotes her time to raising 7 children (AKA the Brady Bunch) (ages 4-19) (5 girls, 2 boys) with her husband Tracey; and cares for her Veteran father with Parkinson’s disease all while providing them a loving home. Her motherly tasks are seemingly overwhelming: She has three biological children; three by blended marriage; and she has adopted a beautiful baby girl. But at the end of the day, she always reminds this group, “We are one family.” Her vision for the family is to be God fearing and Community focused. The children volunteer at programs like Cleats for Kids; they attend cultural events like Red Earth and the Oklahoma City ballet; and this past school year each kid had received recognition as Student of the Month or made the Honor Roll.

Her motherly influence can be seen in the OKC community as well. She has served as a foster parent of young children and provided care and assistance to young adults transitioning out of the system.

She works in a dual role as the Curriculum Specialist for the Learning Center and also the Children and Family Ministry Director at Nichols Hill United Methodist Church. Her children’s ministry even extends to North Highland Elementary. She is also very proud of her work with both the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.

Tausha embraces all of these challenges and commitments with love. She holds true allegiance to her calling to encourage, develop, and foster self-loving and servant minded children and young adults.”

Let’s get to know Tausha!

How many children do you have, and what are their ages?

We have seven children all together.  Their ages are 4, 6, 9, 10, two 13 year olds, and a 20 year old.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

I don’t think I could really pinpoint one thing that I love about being a mom. It’s everything from encouraging them to be spiritually based and community focused.

What is the most challenging thing about being a mom?

Keeping track of everyone’s schedule is something that we always have to tweak while ensuring that we give individual attention.

What could you not survive without as a mom?

My faith in God, prayer, and my mom’s active role in our children’s lives!

What is your proudest mom moment?

When I hear my children pray!

Tausha, we recognize you as being an amazing mom!  We hope you enjoyed your goodies from Whole Foods Market Oklahoma City! Congrats on being our December Mom of the Month!

This month, Whole Foods has provided our Mom of the Month with gifts to keep her (and her food!) nice and warm! An insulated tote, adorable scarf, lotion and lip balm would be great gifts for a special mama on your list!

I fell in love with my husband, Dustin, when I was a wide eyed 15 year old. I have been a mostly loving wife since June 5, 2010, and a mom since February 16, 2012. I live right by Tinker AFB, and I have three little ones- Lyla, 6, Karrick, 2, and our bonus baby Juliet, almost 1 year old! Along with serving as Community Engagement Manager for OKCMB, I work part time from the closet under our stairs teaching English to Chinese students early in the morning! The most relaxing part of my day is when I drink my whole cup of coffee -HOT- while it’s still dark, and the rest of my house is still and quiet. During the day, the kids and I are out and about, exploring the city and avoiding the laundry. I do my very best to run a happy and healthy household for my husband and the little people God has entrusted to me.
