Mom of the Month: Marci Ray {June 2017}

We are loving our Mom of the Month series!  Do you know a special mom in our community who deserves some extra special recognition?  Fill out the form to nominate a mom you know here! Thank you to Whole Foods Market Oklahoma City for partnering with us to provide a special gift for us for our Mom of the Month!

Meet our June Mom of the Month Marci Ray.  Marci lives in Edmond with her husband and 2-year-old daughter.

We are excited to introduce you to her!

Marci was nominated by Jennifer Enteshary and here’s what she had to say about Marci:

Marci is truly the most selfless person I know. She had a long struggle with infertility before becoming pregnant with her beautiful (now 2-year-old) daughter Charlotte. She has been very candid about her struggle and has undoubtedly helped so many other women out there who have suffered these same challenges. She goes above and beyond as a mother, friend, & wife daily. She never takes a moment with her daughter for granted & is always finding new fun ways to help her grow into the smart, sweet, & incredibly darling little girl she is. As a new mom to a baby girl, I look up to Marci with my WHOLE heart and pray I can be half the mother she is!

Let’s get to know Marci!

How many kids do you have and what are their names and ages?

Charlotte – 2.5 years

Whats your favorite thing about being a mom?

The everyday moments. Our morning snuggles in my bed, her voice and it’s innocent requests, playing chase while weaving through rooms in the house, reading books (over and over), tubby time, her giggles, her animation and excitement for almost everything, making messes, and her asking “nuggle me mommy?” when she needs a little break. While longing to be a mom, it was those moments I prayed for, and I’m so grateful to experience them as a stay at home mom.

What’s the most challenging thing about being a mom?

Finding guilt free time for myself. Whether you work from home, stay at home, or work at the office – you’re always on call as mom 24/7. I struggle finding time, or maybe more so, allowing myself time to unplug and go recharge my mom batteries.

What could you not survive without as a mom?

My own mom! She’s not in town to run over and offer “hands on” help, but she is only a phone call or FaceTime date away and she almost always answers. Whether it’s to ask for help, gain advice, or just screech in pride over the newest skill Charlotte has mastered or adorable thing she said/did, I can’t wait to talk to her!! I don’t take any of those phone calls for granted and I know what a blessing it is to have her on the other end of the line. I love my mom, she’s one of the biggest reasons I wanted to be a mom.

What is your proudest mom moment?

Just saying “yes, she’s my daughter.” I so often questioned if I would be able to say those words. I’m proud I’ve been entrusted to guide and love such a precious child every day, and my heart swells watching her grow.

Marci – we recognize you as being an amazing mom and hope you enjoy your gift from Whole Foods Market Oklahoma City!
