We are excited to introduce you to our October Mom of the Month, Ellen Bannister!
Ellen was nominated by Miranda Steffan, and this is what she had to say about her.
Ellen is an outstanding working mom to two spectacular boys that have special needs. She is a passionate advocate for not only her children, but to all of those with developmental delays in Oklahoma, both at the local and state level. Every time I see Ellen, she is a whirlwind of tasks and smiles. She definitely is an inspiring mom that deserves recognition!
Let’s get to know Ellen!
How many children do you have, and what are their names and ages?
Ben, 13 & Eliot, 9
What is your favorite thing about being a mom?
Being silly with my two great guys!
What is the most challenging thing about being a mom?
Getting enough sleep!
What could you not survive without as a mom?
Peanut butter and time to read in the bathtub!
What is your proudest mom moment?
I feel hugely proud when my kids do things that a lot of people take for granted, like when my older son Ben loads the groceries on the conveyor belt at the store or my younger son Eliot spells a word like “raisin” on his talker. I know how much work it has cost them.
Ellen, we recognize you as being an amazing mom! We hope you enjoyed your goodies from Whole Foods Market Oklahoma City! Congrats on being our October Mom of the Month!
