Hi Crock Pot,
I think it’s time we cleared the air. I know we haven’t seen each other since Christmas, and things ended rather abruptly between us. We had a good run, and though it may seem unfair, I’ve moved on. The truth is…it’s not me, it’s you.
You were a wedding gift, and you’ve been a significant part of my life since I joined Pinterest in 2011. I devoted an entire board to the dinners we could make…Together. But here’s the thing. I planned and planned and chopped and chopped and got a membership to a warehouse club store, but I was always left wanting more. Admittedly, we had some good times- a few hits. Overall though, our relationship always seemed a bit one sided. I plan. I chop. I wait. And wait. And wait.
And the results were frequently…disappointing and mushy.
Honestly, it was all I had ever known. I thought it had to be this way. That this was the price of convenience- until this past Christmas when my culinary life was forever changed. Enter: the magical Instant Pot. (I call ours McSteamy.) At first, I was hesitant. Like in any new relationship, I was nervous. The Instant Pot was unfamiliar to me, so I shied away- afraid to fail, afraid to try. The truth is, I’ve been burned in the kitchen before, and I wasn’t eager to repeat the experience. So, after a week or two of apprehension, I read the manual. I opened the box. I joined the online groups….and I threw caution to the wind!
Since taking the plunge with McSteamy, I’m a new woman in the kitchen. It’s changed everything. No more scrambling after forgetting to start dinner by noon! I can’t tell you what it means to have a partner in the kitchen that THRIVES under pressure. At the end of a long day of child rearing and housework, I can cook the same meals that would have taken you all day in mere minutes and achieve better results. But McSteamy didn’t just replace you, Crock Pot. It expanded upon your skill set.
A sauté feature that allows my recipes to be TRULY a one pot meal? Hot and ready in seconds.

My meals are cooked perfectly. Quickly. There’s nothing mushy about them, and clean up is a breeze. It saves me so much time and effort. I just can’t go back to the way things were. I won’t.
Don’t worry, Old Timer. I’ll find you a good home. I appreciate you for what you are, and I wish you all the best.
A Proud (Instant) #Pothead Mama
