For those looking for a new, upscale resale shop, I have found the one you need to check out.  I was recently able to check out Clothes Mentor in Edmond and I was so excited! First of all, I LOVE shopping!!! Secondly, I LOVE resale shops! I am always looking for a good deal!

I had heard about Clothes Mentor a few days earlier and wondered if it would be worth it to check it out or not. I was amazed by what I found. The location is easy to get to – I adore the shopping center where it’s located.  Home also to Hobby Lobby at Broadway Extension and 33rd Street, it has transformed to be an upscale shopping center!

Clothes Mentor 1Walking in to Clothes Mentor, there were several people busy at work. I was greeted right away by Mike, who is one of the owners of the store. He walked me through a little of their history and how they ended up opening a shop in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mike was born and raised in Ponca City and had been living in the Fort Worth area while working as an Aerospace Engineer. His wife, Melanie, had been working at a Clothes Mentor in Fort Worth. While contemplating what to do now that their two daughters are grown, they decided that Edmond would be a great place for this type of resale shop. I couldn’t agree more!!

Clothes Mentor MaternityClothes Mentor buys quality ladies clothes and accessories. That’s right, LADIES, they do not take teen/tween clothes AND they have MATERNITY!!! This is great for so many reasons.  Who wants to pay full price for clothes that you’re only going to wear for nine months? And who doesn’t have maternity clothes that are in great shape that they no longer need? I found some nice business type maternity and several items from Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity. Everything was reasonably priced! A nice shirt from Pea in the Pod was only $12!! That’s less than half of what you would pay in the store!

Clothes Mentor 3All the clothes and accessories are nicely organized and labeled so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. On the end caps of all the aisles, there are outfits, complete with shoes and jewelry put together, so those who might need a little inspiration can find it easily.  I found super cute dresses from Ann Taylor Loft, Gap, Banana Republic and J.Crew – most under $20!  Want to try something on?  No problem.  The dressing rooms are easily accessible, nice and roomy. The clothes are organized by size, and then, (my favorite part) by color! So if you’re looking for a black dress, you can just go to the dress section and find everything they have in black. And, on a side note, they have some super cute little black dresses!!

The best part, by far, were the SHOES!! There were TONS of shoes. And you wouldn’t even be able to tell the shoes had ever been worn. Even the soles of the shoes looked brand new.Clothes Mentor Shoes

Clothes Mentor is currently buying like-new ladies/women’s clothing. They accept all seasons and have all seasons available in their store. If they pass on any of your clothes, they offer to take them and donate them to the HOPE Center for you.

I could go on and on with the great finds that were there! After all, I stayed in the store for almost two hours. They had athletic gear (running skirts for $10), hats, purses, shoes, coats, belts… and the list goes on and on!

The grand opening is this Thursday May 15th! They are open Monday – Friday 10 AM – 8 PM, Saturday 10 AM – 6 PM and Sunday 1 PM – 5 PM.  Check them out!! You might not ever shop in a regular retail store again!!

Hi OKC! I'm Carrie! My husband, Steven, and I met in college but never dated. Many years later, we reconnected and fell in love. After a whirlwind romance and gorgeous wedding I gave up my Texan status and moved to Oklahoma (he was worth it!) He spends his days on the road travelling all over the state of Oklahoma. We are the proud parents of our adorable 2 year old, Caroline and precious baby Benjamin. There is very little sleeping going on at our house. I am a music lover and a wannabe crafter. I am very good at following directions but not so great at creating my own masterpieces. I was a math teacher for 6 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Before being a teacher, I worked in the actuarial field, which is what I am doing part-time now. As a family we work hard to live a simple life, create great memories, and love the Lord with all our heart. I am so excited to be sharing my family with all of you and connecting with other local moms!
